As a function of the SADC Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Directorate, the SADC Seed Centre sits within the SADC Plant Genetic Resources Centre and is led by SADC Seed Coordinator, Tilabilenji Phiri.

Tilabilenji Phiri

Ms. Tilabilenji Phiri was appointed as the acting SADC Seed Coordinator in October 2020. Ms. Phiri, who is a Senior Program Officer – In Situ Conservation at the SADC Plant Genetic Resources Centre (SPGRC) – coordinates SADC Seed Centre programs which aims to operationalize the SADC Harmonized Seed Regulatory System (HSRS). Ms. Phiri has a MSc. and BSc. with a specialization in crop/soil research.
